What this job involves:
Being the backbone of construction projects
You’ll oversee all day-to-day construction-related projects onsite and make sure that all budget, risk, schedule, design, safety and quality management requirements are met. As the go-to person in all construction activities, you’ll help fix any issues that may arise—all while taking heed of clients’ expectations and the company’s procedures. Your task is to ensure all site contractors involved in the project are working on all counts and with telling effect. As needed, you will also cooperate with LDI and the client to monitor, review and resolve any site-related issues.
Planning successful outcomes
As a civil manager, a thoughtful deliverable strategy is your weapon. You’ll need to prepare a master construction schedule for site as well as client and tracking. Part of regular checklist is to review all pending issues with the site team to steer clear of any communication gaps and develop action plans as soon as possible. You’ll also conduct weekly site and report meetings with consultants, contractors and agencies to review the progress per agreed schedule and proactively follow up on all pending issues. Likewise, you’ll review the site’s progress payments to make sure claims from subcontractors reflect the actual progress.
Mastering technical management and communication
In this role, you’ll take the lead and track the progress of coordination drawings submitted by local design consultants, and to get a hold of and follow up drawings, details or clarifications, as needed. You’ll then need to review these drawings to make sure they’re foolproof. You’ll also manage the technical handover and the client’s sign off at the end of a project. Equally, you’ll review the work method statement from subcontractors. On top of these, you’ll also review VOs and make sure they’re valid; set up the site diary and record system; and other duties, as directed.
Clearing safety and quality hurdles
This role calls for a champion for safety and quality management. Part of your responsibilities is to review the RFP documentation from a constructability point of view, provide the work scope; make sure that you go over safe work method statements by Janli; hold safety meetings on a weekly basis; take care of monthly health and safety reports; and make sure that the construction works match the client’s expectations.
Seasoned and credentialed
You have a degree in architectural, civil engineering, MEP engineering, or related discipline or field, or a mix of formal education and work experience of more than five years. Experience in construction site management is a must. You should also have completed safety trainings and must have acquired construction estimation skills.
